    Usage Tips

    Disk quota errors
    • If you are receiving a "disk quota" error while trying to delete e-mail messages via studentweb, try the following:

      • Select options:
        1. Click folder preferences
        2. Under special folder options, select trash folder
        3. Select "does not use trash"
        4. Then click submit

      • Delete e-mail messages that you were previously unable to delete (note that these e-mails will be permanently deleted -- they will not go into your trash folder).

      • Go back into your folder preferences and select trash folder as trash; then click submit
    • To check much disk space you are using so you do not exceed your 10 mb limit,

      • Select options:
        1. Click folder preferences
        2. Select the desired options under "Show Folder Sizes"
        3. Click submit

    Secure Shell(SSH)

SSH, or Secure Shell, is available on all DePaul lab and dorm computers. SSH provides a secure connection to remote systems. If you have been using Telnet, IS strongly recommends that you switch to SSH because Telnet is not secure, making your files vulnerable to theft or eavesdropping.

To use SSH to connect to a remote computer:

    1. Select the Connect icon on the toolbar.

    2. Select the Connect option from the file menu. This brings up the Connect to Remote Host dialog.

    3. When you connect to a remote host computer for the first time, the host will provide your local computer with a host public key. The host key is the public key for identifying the remote host computer that you're connecting to.

    4. This process will bring up the Host Identification dialog.
