    Personal Sites for Students

Along with each student e-mail account, students also receive space to host a personal Web page on a DePaul site. Personal pages must be in good taste and must conform to all applicable computing and university policies. Your site address will be students.depaul.edu/~youruserID

Each student is allocated 15 Mb space on the students.depaul.edu server. There is no fee for posting a site; there is no technical support provided for the site. Students create and post their own pages. The following information provides basics to help students get started:
    1. Obtain your student e-mail/student Web account from any ID Services office. This was provided to you as a new student, but ID Services can re-set your account for you if you have misplaced or forgotten it. You will need to do this in person.

    2. Create a public_html directory, set the proper "permissions" for your directory, and change your password. See our Tips for Students/Condor Sites for a Quickguide produced by DePaul's Instructional Technology Development department.

    3. Create your page using basic HTML or any Web authoring tool of your choice. See our Resources for students/condor site for HTML tips.

    4. Transfer your files using SSH. See our Tips for Students/Condor Sites for a Quickguide produced by DePaul's Instructional Technology Development department.
