The Information Services division is diligently working in partnership with several administrative areas to successfully upgrade DePaul’s PeopleSoft student administration and human resource system to Peoplesoft 9.0. The upgrade is scheduled for July 2008.

Upgrade benefits
As a student, faculty, or staff member, you will benefit from the new features available in PeopleSoft 9.0, including:

• the "Student Center" which provides a consolidated page for students to access their academic, financial, and personal information, and a new feature called "My Planner" which allows students to forecast their course enrollment over their entire academic career at DePaul,
• the "Faculty Center", a centralized page for faculty members to view their course schedules, find rosters, and access information on their advisees,
• and new or improved self-service functionality for staff and managers for HR and Payroll processes which includes position requests (WMRF), employee termination requests, and time reporting.

The PeopleSoft upgrade will also allow DePaul to receive continued technology support from PeopleSoft as our current version is retiring soon.

Project update
Over the past several months, Information Services has been working closely with Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Student Records, Human Resources, Payroll, and other departments on the planning and design phases for the system upgrade. The team has focused on functional and usability testing to ensure a smooth transition for students, faculty, and staff after the upgrade. Over the next several months, the team will focus on building DePaul’s customized PeopleSoft 9.0 environment and testing all processes in order to guarantee a successful upgrade in July 2008.
