Beginning in the Fall Quarter of the 2008-2009 Academic year, Information Services will make Microsoft Office 2007 software available for all faculty and staff in the University. Please read the information on this website to learn about the Office 2007 upgrade and what resources are available for you.
On Wednesday, October 1st, a new icon called Office 2007 Upgrade will automatically appear on your computer desktop. If you would like to install Office 2007, you can simply double-click on the Office 2007 Upgrade icon, and the software will install on your computer. If you do not see an Office 2007 icon or receive an error message, please contact the Technology Contact Center at x28765 or log a ticket online through the Campus Connection website.
The installation takes approximately 30 minutes, and you can continue to use your computer during the installation, but you may find your computer is running slower than normal. Also, during the installation, do not use any of the Microsoft Office products because the programs will automatically close during the installation and you risk losing any changes to documents or e-mails. If you want to check e-mail during the installation, please use the web client at outlook.depaul.edu.
All new computers installed beginning October 1st, 2008 will have Microsoft Office 2007 installed.
All labs and classrooms will be upgraded in late December before the start of Winter Quarter. Faculty teaching December intercession classes will still use Office 2003 in the classroom.
