Request New Card Reader

Authorized department or college representatives can make requests to:
  • Install a new card reader for your department or area
  • Move an existing card reader to another location
  • Remove a card reader from your department or area
Are you authorized?
  • Authorized representatives are usually designated by department

    • Directors, department chairs, administrative staff, and budget managers are examples of common designees
Follow these steps

Requesting departments cover all costs related to the installation, move, or removal. Each installation, move, or removal is unique; therefore, costs will vary.
  1. Contact the DePaul Technology Contact Center (TCC) at Ext. 2-8765 and have them create a ticket for your request.

  2. Provide the following information with your request:

    • Type of request (see above)
    • Your name
    • Your department, building and room number
    • Your phone number
    • Your e-mail address
    • A description of the work you need done

  3. A technician may contact you for further information if needed.

  4. An IS technician will schedule an on-site visit to review the request and the requirements.

  5. The technician will create a work order with Facility Operations to have the work completed.

  6. You will receive a quote for the total cost to complete the request.

  7. If you approve the work order, a target installation date will be provided and IS will process a budget transfer for the quoted amount.

  8. IS and Facility Operations will install and test the reader(s).

  9. Once the work is completed, you will be contacted to ensure that the work was done to your satisfaction.
