Accounting program at DePaul University ranked among best in U.S.

CHICAGO — The undergraduate accounting program at DePaul University in Chicago was ranked among the best in the nation in a survey conducted of heads of corporate tax departments conducted by JobsInTax.

DePaul’s Master of Science in Taxation program was ranked the No. 1 tax program in the nation by JobsInTax in fall 2012.

JobsInTax.com, part of TaxTalent, the largest online network of tax professionals, announced the highest-regarded undergraduate accounting programs based on the separate survey responses of 106 heads of corporate tax departments throughout the United States.

“The future of the tax profession lies within our young tax professionals,” said Tony Santiago, president of TaxTalent. “This is why we place such emphasis on providing students with quality information to allow them to make informed educational decisions.

Kevin Stevens, director of the School of Accountancy in DePaul’s 100-year-old Driehaus College of Business, said he was pleased to receive the distinction.

“It is an honor to be among such prestigious institutions chosen for this ranking,” Stevens said. “The recognition speaks to the quality of students that graduate from our program as well as the program itself.”
