DePaul Business School Recognized For Its Academic Reputation in U.S. and International Business School Rankings

DePaul University’s business school has been awarded Four Palms for being an internationally known top business school, and it placed 53rd in the United States category of a ranking of the 1,000 best business schools in the world issued by Eduniversal, a Paris-based educational consulting organization.

The ranking, which encompasses both the College of Commerce’s undergraduate program and the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul, was based on an international survey of business school deans in 153 countries and the ratings of a nine-member independent team of education experts, according to Eduniversal. The results were announced at the Fourth Eduniversal World Convention of the Best Business Schools held in Shanghai, China, and posted on Eduniversal’s website, eduniversal-ranking.com.

The expert panel awarded business schools One to Five Palms – with five being the highest ranking – based on international recognition through accreditations, memberships and international, regional and local rankings. Harvard Business School placed first and earned a Five Palm rating among the 1,000 business schools in the ranking.

“The rankings show that DePaul, which already has a stellar reputation in the Chicago area for its strong academic profile, is extending its international educational outreach through programs such as those offered by the School of Hospitality Leadership, which has partnerships that allow students to study hospitality leadership in Europe,” DePaul College of Commerce Dean Ray Whittington said.

In other rankings released this fall, DePaul was named one of the country’s 25 best academic institutions for entrepreneurship education, according to the annual survey issued by Entrepreneur magazine and Princeton Review. Of the more than 2,000 schools reviewed by The Princeton Review for Entrepreneur magazine, DePaul’s graduate entrepreneurship program was ranked 11th and its undergraduate program was ranked 17th. Both programs were evaluated on how well they teach business fundamentals, whether the faculty includes successful entrepreneurs, and the availability of experiential or entrepreneurial opportunities outside the classroom, among other criteria.

Offering a highly respected, practical, flexible program of business study, DePaul’s College of Commerce enrolls 4,249 undergraduate students, and the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business has 2,115 students. DePaul’s undergraduate business program offers a wide range of majors in accountancy, finance, management, marketing, economics and real estate, including top programs in hospitality leadership, sales leadership and entrepreneurship. Graduates benefit from the College of Commerce’s 50,000-strong alumni network.
