DePaul’s Daley Building Honored by Friends of Downtown

DePaul University’s $37 million renovation and conversion of the historic Lytton Building was honored by the civic group Friends of Downtown. Bob Janis, vice president for facility operations, accepted the award on DePaul’s behalf at a May 12 ceremony from the group’s president, Noah Temenar Jenkins.

The 98-year-old building at 14 E. Jackson Blvd., houses classrooms, faculty offices, theatres and state-of-the-art production facilities for the College of Communication, the College of Computing and Digital Media, the School for New Learning and other academic programs. It was christened the Richard M. and Maggie C. Daley Building last December in honor of the former Chicago mayor and his wife for their contributions to the city and its arts and education communities.
