DePaul University Ranked No. 19 Nationally Among Top Companies for Diversity Leadership
DePaul University ranked 19th in Diversity MBA Magazine’s annual “50 Out Front Companies for Diversity Leadership: Best Places for Diverse Managers to Work,” released in April.
DePaul improved by two places over last year when it was ranked 21st by the Chicago-based magazine. Organizations are ranked on four areas of representation among people of color and women: retention and inclusion practices; recruitment strategies and developing candidates in the pipeline; a diverse succession plan; and accountability, which includes commitment to diversity by the chief executive and its board of directors; and reward systems for diversity performance.
“DePaul is pleased to once again receive this ranking from Diversity MBA,” said Elizabeth F. Ortiz, DePaul University’s vice president for Institutional Diversity and Equity. “This honor reflects DePaul’s commitment to diversity in practice and is part of our strategic vision of creating a truly diverse institution. We realize we have much more work to do in order to achieve our diversity goals and plan to continue the work we have begun through our strategic planning process.”
Pamela A. McElvane, publisher and CEO of Diversity MBA, said, “It is important to know that the rankings were very competitive this year. To make the list, especially for a university, is a tremendous accomplishment and is a testament to the work DePaul has committed to in the long term.”
The rankings are scheduled to be released in the magazine’s print and online editions on April 25.
