Political Strategist Donna Brazile to Discuss Importance of Student Vote at DePaul University Oct. 20

High-profile political strategist Donna Brazile will speak on “The Importance of the Student Vote” at DePaul University at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1010 W. Webster Ave.

           
Brazile’s talk will include a question and answer session and will provide tips on analyzing a candidate’s political platform, as well as underscore the important role voting plays in civic engagement.

The program is free and open to the public. RSVPs are required and can be made by calling 773/325-7759 or sending an e-mail to culturalcenter@depaul.edu.

          
Brazile, a native of Louisiana and a graduate of Louisiana State University, has worked on numerous presidential campaigns. In 2000, for the Gore-Lieberman ticket, she made history as the first African American woman to manage a major presidential campaign.

           
She is a weekly contributor and political commentator on CNN’s “The Situation Room” and “American Morning,” as well as for the cable network’s election coverage. In addition, she is a columnist for Roll Call, a contributing writer for Ms. magazine and a contributor to NPR’s “Political Corner.” Brazile published “Cooking With Grease,” a memoir of her life and work in politics, in 2004.
