DePaul University Experts Are Available To Address Social, Educational And Legal Issues Related to Gun Control
There is no denying that gun violence in Chicago has erupted to a level of war-zone proportion. As the city of Chicago works to stem the tide of shootings that has left more than 40 people dead in April alone, DePaul University faculty are available to share their research and expertise.
The following DePaul faculty have expertise in numerous areas related to societal violence, including gun control laws, the impact of poverty on gun violence, the impact of gun violence on the criminal justice system, poverty and race, economic development policies, urban youth and school violence, stress and urban youth, gangs in schools, the impact of race, class and gender on public education systems, parenting in a cultural context,domestic violence and youth and violence prevention.

Hall oversees the REAL Youth Program, a safe haven for sixth-grade through high school boys and girls deemed “at-risk” that provides a place to talk about the issues they face.
