UPDATE:DePaul Reopens Lewis Center & O’Malley Place Tuesday Morning
7:47 p.m. Chicago Police have given DePaul an all-clear to reopen the Lewis Center and O’Malley Place at 25 and 23 E. Jackson Blvd. The buildings were closed for about two hours Monday evening as the result of a bomb threat.
These two buildings, along with all other Loop Campus facilities and all DePaul campuses, will be open for classses and business as usual Tuesday.
Chicago Police and Public Safety are on heightened alert and have increased patrols at the Loop and Lincoln Park Campuses.
Students, faculty or staff who may have left belongings behind in classrooms during the evacuation should visit Loop Campus Public Safety in the lower level of Lewis Center, where items were taken for safe-keeping.
6:40 p.m. DePaul University has evacuated two buildings on its Loop Campus due to a bomb threat. This threat affects Lewis Center and O’Malley Place at 25 and 23 E. Jackson Blvd. All evenings classes have been cancelled in these buildings.This decision was made in consultation with the Chicago Police Department and affects only these two buildings at this time.
