DePaul University's Center for Black Diaspora Lecturers Examine the African Presence in Modern France

DePaul University’s Center for Black Diaspora will examine Paris and modernity in two fall lectures focusing on the city’s African presence.

The first lecture, “African Presence: Black France in Global Contexts,” will be presented by Dominic Thomas, professor of French and francophone studies, University of California at Los Angeles, Oct. 10, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., in Room 400 of the Richardson Library, 2350 N. Kenmore Ave.

On Oct. 31, Brent Hayes Edwards, professor of English and comparative literature, at Columbia University, will present “Presence Africaine and Black Paris,” from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., in Room 400 of the Richardson Library, 2350 N. Kenmore Ave.
