DePaul University Statement Regarding The Coca-Cola Company

DePaul University has selected a new beverage provider to meet the beverage needs of its students, faculty, staff and guests following a competitive bidding process that included the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Chicago. This process began following the expiration of the university’s previous contract. DePaul ultimately chose the package that will provide the most value to the university based on its current needs.

In the past year DePaul worked closely with The Coca-Cola Company to address allegations about employment conditions at a bottling facility in Colombia. DePaul’s approach has been to work with corporate executives on a mutually satisfactory solution. We support the decision of The Coca-Cola Company and its bottlers in Colombia to partner with the International Labor Organization to conduct an independent and objective evaluation of the situation. We look forward to the results to resolve the allegations once and for all.

DePaul extends its best wishes to The Coca-Cola Company as it continues to engage these difficult issues. We would also like to thank the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Chicago for its many years of service to DePaul.
