Complete Mozart Piano Sonatas Among Concerts Scheduled By DePaul School Of Music This Fall

The highly regarded DePaul University School of Music begins its 2006-2007 concert season in October with a Complete Mozart Piano Sonatas weekend, a Jupiter Trio concert and other free, public events. The schedule includes:

Oct. 11, 8 p.m.: The Jupiter Trio, DePaul Concert Hall, 800 W. Belden Ave. School of Music faculty members Robert Waters, violin, and Aglika Angelova, piano, along with the third member of the talented trio, Julian Hersh, cello, perform Trio for Piano and Strings, Op.11, by Beethoven; Trio for Piano and Strings, Op.90, “Dumky,” by Dvorak; and Trio for Piano and Strings in A minor, by Dvorak and Ravel.

Oct. 14, 8 p.m.: DePaul Symphony Orchestra, DePaul Concert Hall, 800 W. Belden Ave. Conducted by Cliff Colnot, the DePaul Symphony Orchestra performs The Density of Memory by George Flynn and Pulcinella Suite by Stravinsky, featuring DePaul clarinet faculty soloists Larry Combs, Julie DeRoche and Wagner Campos.

Oct. 16, 8 p.m.: DePaul Chamber Orchestra, DePaul Concert Hall, 800 W. Belden Ave. The DePaul Chamber Orchestra conducted by Tom Hall performs Lento molto from Two Pieces for String Orchestra by Copland; Concerto in A minor for Bassoon, F. VIII, No. 8, by Vivaldi; and Symphony No. 33 in Bb Major, K. 319, by Mozart. William Buchman, a DePaul music faculty member and assistant principal bassoon of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, will be the soloist.

Oct. 28 and Oct. 29, 3 p.m.: Complete Mozart Piano Sonatas, DePaul Concert Hall, 800 W. Belden Ave. Students of the DePaul School of Music’s AmerKlavier Studio and its artistic director, acclaimed pianist Eteri Andjaparidze, present a weekend of Mozart sonatas. The Oct. 28 concert features: Sonata in C, K. 279 (1775); Sonata in F, K. 280 (1775); Sonata in B flat, K. 281 (1775); Sonata in E flat, K. 282 (1775); Sonata in G, K. 283 (1775); Sonata in D, K. 284 (1775); Sonata in C, K. 309 (1777); Sonata in D, K. 311 (1777); and Sonata in a, K. 310 (1778). The Oct. 29 concert features: Sonata in C, K. 330 (1781-83); Sonata in A, K. 331 (1781-83), Sonata in F, K. 332 (1781-83), Sonata in B flat, K. 333 (1783-84), Sonata in c, K. 457 (1784); Sonata in F, K. 533 (1788); Sonata in C, K. 545 (1788); Sonata in B flat, K. 570 (1789); and Sonata in D, K. 576 (1789).
