DePaul Hosts Economic Forecast Discussion With Market Expert Roger Ibbotson, Chairman Of Ibbotson Associates

Renowned market analyst Roger Ibbotson, chairman and founder of the Chicago-based financial advisory firm Ibbotson Associates, will share his outlook on the economy, long-run market returns and hedge funds at DePaul University Nov. 3.

Sponsored by DePaul’s Finance Department and Circle of Finance Opportunities (CFO) alumni organization, Ibbotson’s market forecast discussion will be held at the DePaul Center, 1 E. Jackson Blvd., Room 8005, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event is open to the public and admission is free, but donations are encouraged to benefit the CFO’s scholarship fund for DePaul finance students.

A finance professor at Yale University, Ibbotson is an expert on capital market returns, cost of capital and international investing. He founded Ibbotson Associates in 1977, and today the firm is a leading authority on asset allocation, providing products and services to help investment professionals obtain, manage and retain assets. From offices in Chicago, New York and Toyko, the firm provides consulting services, software, data and financial publishing for financial institutions and investment advisors worldwide. Since 2002, the company has worked with 401(k) providers – including Fidelity, TIAA-CREF and AIG – to help their participants choose among funds.

DePaul Finance Chair Ali Fatemi said the department looks forward to hosting the event because “Roger Ibbotson is the first name you think of when it comes to the topic of long-run asset returns. This is true in academia and practice alike.”
