DePaul University Reaches Out To College Students Affected By Hurricane Katrina

WHAT: Will work the holiday weekend helping college students who have contacted the university about obtaining expedited, temporary admission to DePaul because their educations at Gulf Coast colleges have been disrupted by Hurricane Katrina.
WHERE: Wish Welcome Center, Room 101, DePaul Center, 1 E. Jackson Blvd., Chicago
WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 3; Media availability 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Background: More than 200 students have contacted DePaul to discuss temporary admission and financial aid opportunities. Classes begin at DePaul Sept. 7.
The admission assistance, DePaul’s ongoing counseling of its own students affected by the hurricane, as well as university prayer services planned for Sept. 8, reflect DePaul’s community service mission.
