Cardinal George to Celebrate Mass at DePaul University’s Lincoln Park Campus Saturday During Encuentro 2005
Event for Hispanic Young Adult Ministry Hosted by University and Archdiocese of Chicago
For the second time in three years, a day-long conference intended to help Hispanic young adults engage and share their Catholic faith will be held July 30 at DePaul University’s Student Center, 2250 N. Sheffield Ave.
The event, Encuentro 2005, is co-sponsored by DePaul and the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Office of Hispanic Catholics. The event will feature a Mass at 4:30 p.m., celebrated by Cardinal Francis George, Archbishop of Chicago.
The Encuentro supports and encourages the work of young adults in their ministry, as a way of celebrating faith in community with young adults. The focus of the event is a series of gatherings of people seeking to renew their faith commitment and share their faith with others their own age. In addition to the Mass, the conference also will feature a keynote address, break-out sessions, group discussions and reflections, a musical concert and a talent show.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the event. The conference registration fee is $20 and includes access to all sessions, as well as a continental breakfast and lunch. The event is scheduled to conclude at 9 p.m. For registration information, call Jorge Rivera at 312/738-1080.
