DePaul Hosts Workshop on Emerging Wireless Technologies Feb. 25
Leading Industry Experts to Comment on New Developments, Products
Wireless technologies are rapidly expanding into everyday use in the United States, and with this widespread acceptance has come the development of new wireless platforms and technologies. To explore these new systems, DePaul University’s School of Computer Science, Telecommunications and Information Systems (CTI) will host a Wireless Workshop Feb. 25 at 1:15 p.m. in the Egan Urban Center, 243 S. Wabash Ave., 9th Floor.
The afternoon-long event, co-sponsored by the Global Wireless Education Consortium (GWEC) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Communications Society, will feature panel discussions and forums examining development and deployment of new technologies, such as WiFi and WiMAX. In addition, several distinguished speakers from the wireless industry, representing Cingular, U.S. Cellular and the GWEC, are scheduled to speak at the event’s sessions.

DePaul CTI is one of the most innovative and wide-ranging computer science programs in the country. The undergraduate program enrolls 1,200 students and offers 11 different degrees. More than 2,130 students are enrolled in its 17 graduate programs. CTI also features a doctoral degree program in computer science.
