West Point Computer Security Expert to Speak at DePaul Oct. 15
Technology executives, employees and students from Chicago will have the opportunity to hear the computer security perspectives of a national expert at 6 p.m. Oct. 15 in Room 8005 of the DePaul Center, 1 E. Jackson Blvd., courtesy of DePaul University’s School of Computer Science, Telecommunications and Information Systems (CTI).
The program, entitled "Duty, Honor, Country and Security: What’s Going on at West Point in Information Assurance," will feature Aaron J. Ferguson, assistant professor and National Security Agency (NSA) visiting professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
The event, the fifth installment of DePaul CTI’s Enterprise Security Seminar Series, will explore the latest in NSA-funded research at West Point into the issue of information assurance. Some of the projects discussed will include an identity management system, a digital signature benchmarking tool, a prototype network for analyzing security risks and a smart-card enabled content dissemination system. The seminar also will examine the results of studies and e-mail security exercises under Ferguson’s direction.
