Anne Burke’s Address At DePaul On Clergy Abuse Rescheduled For March 4

Illinois Appellate Justice Anne Burke, who is also interim chair of the National Review Board (NRB) of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, will provide an update on the current clergy abuse scandal issue and the church’s compliance with the Charter to Protect Children and Young People, at DePaul University, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 4 in Cortelyou Commons, 2324 N. Fremont St.

Burke’s talk will follow the release of the NRB’s report on the clerical sex scandal. She will give an overview of the board’s responsibilities during her presentation. Following her presentation, the following DePaul faculty will give brief responses: the Rev. Thomas Croak, C.M., associate professor of history;Thomas O’Brien, assistant professor of religious studies; and Catherine D. Pines, training coordinator at DePaul's Mental Health Center.
