Looking For Success In Law School? Meet The DePaul Law Deans Who Wrote The Book On It
Those interested in discovering what it takes to make the grade in law school can learn the intimate details from authors Ruta Stropus and Charlotte Taylor when they discuss and sign copies of their book “Bridging the Gap Between College and Law School: Strategies for Success,” (2001, Carolina Academic Press), at noon Aug.19 at DePaul University’s Loop Campus book store, 1 E. Jackson Blvd.
“Bridging the Gap” arms law students and those thinking of attending law school with the tools needed to make the transition from undergraduate study to the rigors of learning the law. The book offers a no nonsense and concrete approach to understanding the process of learning the law, as well as the problems students face and how to overcome them.
Stropus is assistant dean for educational services and director of the DePaul College of Law’s academic support program. A summa cum laude graduate of the Loyola University School of Law, Stropus developed the academic support program at Northern Illinois University College of Law before joining the faculty at DePaul. Prior to that, she worked as a litigation associate at McDermott, Will and Emery and at Sachnoff & Weaver, Ltd.
Taylor is assistant dean for multicultural affairs at the DePaul College of Law. A graduate of DePaul’s law school, Taylor previously worked as the assistant director of the law school’s academic support program. Prior to that, she practiced insurance defense law with the firm of Greene & Letts in Chicago.
