Women in Information Technology Share Success Stories in Panel Discussion at DePaul University Nov. 6

A panel of some of the top female executives in the Chicago information technology industry will gather at DePaul University’s School of Computer Science, Telecommunications and Information Systems (CTI) for a roundtable discussion to offer their views on various aspects of running and managing an information technology workplace.

The two-hour program, "Women in IT: Perspectives from the Top," will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 6 at DePaul’s Egan Urban Center, 243 S. Wabash, 9th Floor. The panel is the second in a series, and the participants will discuss a variety of topics including hiring, education, integrating new technologies, workplace success stories and ways to balance work and family life.

Among those scheduled to participate in the panel are:

• Peggy Carroll, chief information officer (CIO), Palos Hospital

• Jean Holley, former CIO, USG Corporation

• Cindy Levin, former CIO, law firm of Kirkland & Ellis

• Laurel McGrath, former CIO, Standard Parking Co.

• Christine Schultz, director of enterprise architecture, Boise Cascade Office Products

The event hopes to address both the unique career and family challenges that female IT employees face, as well as the historical under-representation of women in the IT workplace.

The event is free and open to the public. However, due to limited seating, registration is required. For more information on the event or to register, contact DePaul CTI at 312/362-8714 or send an e-mail to: events@cti.depaul.edu.
