DePaul Center For Strategy, Execution And Valuation Presents Workshop On Strategic Financial Analysis Sept. 26
DePaul University’s new Center for Strategy, Execution and Valuation will sponsor a workshop for executives, “Strategic Financial Analysis for Effective Organizations,” from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 26 at the DePaul Center, 1 E. Jackson, Room 8005.
The workshop will feature several of the most distinguished accountancy and finance faculty members from DePaul’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and area executives discussing innovative concepts in strategy, financial analysis and performance measurement. Speakers and panels include:
* Diane Swonk, director of economics, chief economist and senior vice president, Bank One Corp., who will deliver the event’s keynote speech, “Recipe for a Boom: the Economy and Election-Year Politics,” at 1 p.m. Swonk is a clinical professor at DePaul who has taught popular finance courses for the last two years.
* Joel Litman, director in equity research at Credit Suisse First Boston, will outline “Guiding Principles of Strategic Valuation and Performance Measurement for Improving Financial Analysis” during a 9 a.m. address. Litman is a clinical professor of business strategy at DePaul.
* Werner F.M. De Bondt, chair and director of the Driehaus Center for Behavioral Finance at DePaul and a leading expert on investor psychology, will discuss “Strategic Financial Analysis: A Behavioral Perspective” at 10:45 a.m.
* Mark L. Frigo, co-director of The Center for Strategy, Execution and Valuation and the Eichenbaum Foundation Distinguished Professor of Strategy and Leadership at DePaul, will lead a panel of corporate executives in a discussion of the “Best Practices in Financial Measurement and the Balance Scorecard” at 2:30 p.m.
* Keith M. Howe, co-director of The Center for Strategy, Execution and Evaluation and the Scholl Chair in Finance at DePaul, will moderate an executive panel on “Best Practices in the Use of Financial Analysis in Value-Based Management” at 4 p.m.
“This conference will discuss cutting-edge tools and concepts that will help executives enhance their financial analysis and performance measurement to promote business success,” Howe said.
