Bringing together educators, researchers and professionals from around the region, DePaul University will host the 2003 Midwest Software Engineering Conference June 5 at the DePaul Student Center, 2250 N. Sheffield Ave.

The conference is designed to evaluate emerging technologies in the field and present the latest research findings to help integrate practical experiences with developing trends in software productivity. The event will feature paper presentation sessions, workshops, industry experience reports and prototype tool demonstrations in areas of interest such as software architecture and frameworks, requirements and planning, software design and development tools.

Two prominent keynote speakers will address conference participants. Peter Herzum, chairman and chief technology officer for Herzum Software, will speak about enterprise software architecture. A specialist in this area, Herzum helps companies around the world establish software factories and resolve complex development and integration issues. He is also author of the best-selling book "Business Component Factory."
