Former White Sox Slugger and Currently Successful Entrepreneur To Speak at DePaul University’s O’Hare Campus June 14
Eric Soderholm, a former major league baseball player who has gone on to start up several successful business ventures, will be the featured speaker for the final installment of the 2002 Spring Lecture Series at DePaul University’s O’Hare Campus from 2 to 4 p.m. June 14.
Soderholm, founder of SoderWorld Holistic Health and Wellness Center, Hinsdale, Ill., will share his life experiences and secrets to success during his presentation, titled “Inside the Champion’s Mind: Transformational Experiences.” Soderholm is best known for his nine seasons as a major league baseball player with four different teams, including a successful stint with the Chicago White Sox in the late 1970s. After a knee injury prematurely ended his career, he applied his competitive nature to the business world, founding a successful baseball hitting school and running a multi-million dollar ticket business.
In 1997, he established SoderWorld, a holistic health and wellness center, with the help of his daughter, Misty. Soderholm will discuss the transition from the world of sports into the world of business, as well as the importance of self-awareness and the power of belief.
The lecture is open to students, alumni and the public, and will be held at DePaul’s O’Hare Campus, 3166 S. River Road, 2nd Floor, Des Plaines. Admission to the lecture is $20, which includes a wine and cheese reception. For more information or reservations, call DePaul’s O’Hare Campus at 847/296-5348.
