ACLU Executive Director To Discuss Post 9/11 Civil Liberties Tomorrow At DePaul Program On Tragedy Aftermath

WHO: Colleen K. Connell, executive director of the ACLU of Illinois, along with other notables such as Aminah McCloud, a professor of religious studies at DePaul University; Nasser Nubani, an attorney and co-founder of the Muslim Bar Association; and Clement Adibe, a professor of political science at DePaul.

WHAT: Will participate in “Conversations in a Time of Crisis: A Current Events Symposium.” Sponsored by the School for New Learning at DePaul, the program will address some of the critical issues raised by the September 11 tragedies. Among the topics to be discussed: civil liberties since 9/11; global poverty and global politics; media rhetoric and the current crisis; and germ warfare and public health.

WHEN: Noon until 4 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2002

WHERE: DePaul University, DePaul Center, 1 E. Jackson Blvd. 8th floor.
