Grant Applications For Research On Lincoln Park Community May Be Obtained From DePaul University
Lincoln Park, home of DePaul University’s anchor campus, is one of Chicago’s most vibrant and developed neighborhoods. The Community and Government Relations Office of DePaul is seeking grant proposals for research related to the area.
The Lincoln Park Community Research Initiative invites grant proposals from neighborhood residents, local educators and DePaul faculty. Proposals should focus on the history or current development of the community. Grant recipients must use or enhance the Lincoln Park collection in DePaul’s John T. Richardson Library and produce a project that can be shared with the community, such as a videotape, museum exhibit or manuscript.
In the initiative’s first grant program, which covers the 2000-2001 academic year, it will fund up to $10,000 in proposed projects, with a $2,500 maximum for a single project. Projects must be completed by September of 2001.
Grant applications may be obtained from DePaul’s Community and Government Relations Office, 55 E. Jackson Blvd., 22nd floor, or at the Richardson Library, 2350 N. Kenmore Ave., Special Collections, 3rd floor. The grant applications must be returned by October 13.
The Lincoln Park Community Research Initiative is a community-university partnership in support of community research. For more information about this initiative, call DePaul’s Office of Community and Government Relations, at 312/362-8101.
