Shmuel Shilo, Internationally Renowned Jewish Law Expert, To Speak At DePaul About The Nuances of Jewish Law

      "What's So Special About Jewish Law?" will be the subject of a lecture by internationally acclaimed Jewish law expert Shmuel Shilo Sept. 14 at 3:30 p.m., at the DePaul University College of Law, 25 E. Jackson Blvd. Room 905. The lecture will be immediately followed by a reception at the DePaul Music Mart, 1 E. Jackson Blvd., Concourse Level.

      Shilo, who also is an authority on Israeli and comparative succession law, directs the Institute for Research in Jewish Law at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and was the founder of the Institute for Jewish Law at Touro Law School in New York. He currently serves a vice dean of the Hebrew University Faculty of Law.

      Shilo's visit to the College of Law is part of a faculty exchange program between DePaul and the Hebrew University that is designed to provide students and faculty at both institutions with enriching international educational and cultural experiences.
