DePaul University Experts Available For Interviews About "Super Tuesday" And Illinois Presidential Primaries

     The following professors from DePaul University in Chicago are available for interviews about issues involving the March 7 "Super Tuesday" presidential primaries and Illinois' primary on March 21:

     Bruce Newman, associate professor of marketing and nationally known political marketing expert. Newman, the author of "The Mass Marketing of Politics: Democracy in an Age of Manufactured Images" and "The Marketing of the President," has offered communications advice to top White House aides and Polish leader Lech Walesa. He can analyze the political marketing and image strategies of the presidential candidates and discuss voter behavior, campaign advertising and campaign spending issues. DePaul: 312/362-5186.

     Bruce Evensen, professor of communication, author of three books on media ethics and former Middle East news bureau chief for Christian Broadcasting. Topics he can discuss include media coverage of the religion issue in the Republican primary and favorable media coverage of underdog candidates, particularly Republican presidential candidate Sen.      Michael L. Mezey, professor of political science, served as CNN's Midwest regional expert during the 1984 presidential election. He is a member of the boards of the Legislative Studies Quarterly and the Journal of Politics, and is well-versed in presidential election processes and public policy making. DePaul: 773/325-7305.
