DePaul University To Hold A Second "Crisis In Kosovo" Panel Discussion On The Conflict In The Balkans April 22ND

A second lunchtime panel discussion to weigh several perspectives on the important conflict taking place in Kosovo will be held at DePaul University when faculty and associates convene from noon to 1:15 p.m. April 22 in the DePaul Center, 1 E. Jackson Blvd., Room 8005.

The panel discussion is free and open to the public. The first discussion, held last week on the Lincoln Park Campus, drew close to 200 students, faculty and visitors.

Panelists are: Richard Farkas, professor of political science; Roberta Garner, professor of sociology and program moderator; James Krokar, associate professor of history; Robert Ludwig, director of University Ministry; Thomas Mockaitis, chair of the history department; Robert Rotenberg, director of the International Studies program and editor of "Anthropology of East Europe;" and special guest and former DePaul professor of political science, Robert Leonardi, currently Monet Professor of European Union Studies at the London School of Economics.

Panelists will provide an historical overview of the Kosovo conflict, offer a view of the conflict from Europe and weigh pros and cons of the United States’ involvement.
