DePaul University Elects Two New Trustees To Board

Two executives with decades of financial and corporate experience have been elected to DePaul University's Board of Trustees by the Members of the Corporation, bringing the board’s membership to 50.

William L. Bax, a 1966 graduate of DePaul’s College of Commerce, is managing partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, the world’s largest professional services firm. Born and raised in the Chicago area, the 55-year-old continues a lifelong association with DePaul. Since earning his accounting degree, Bax has served on the College of Commerce’s Advisory Council and the School of Accountancy Development Committee, chaired DePaul’s Corporate Matching Program at Price Waterhouse and helped to establish the PricewaterhouseCoopers Minority Scholarship at the university. Bax is a resident of Glenview.

James M. Denny, Sr., has been managing director of William Blair Capital Partners, a private equity fund, since 1995. Prior to that he spent nine years at Sears, Roebuck and Co. as vice president for finance and later vice chairman. The 66-year-old Minnesota native also has held various legal and financial executive positions with the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. and G.D. Searle and Co. Denny is a resident of Winnetka.

"We’re delighted to have Bill Bax and Jim Denny as new trustees," said Edward A. Brennan, chairman of DePaul's Board of Trustees. "Their background, experience and accomplishments will enable them to make excellent contributions to our board."
