Pamela Strobel, executive vice president of Unicom, has been elected to DePaul University’s Board of Trustees by the Members of the Corporation. Strobel is one of four new trustees joining the board this spring.

Strobel, 46, a resident of Winnetka, was promoted to executive vice president of Unicom in 1998. She joined the company in 1993 as general counsel and vice president of Commonwealth Edison (ComEd), a Unicom subsidiary, where she oversaw legal matters, corporate ethics, and the risk management and claims departments.

"Pamela Strobel’s intelligence, legal abilities and leadership qualities will be welcome contributions to our board," said Edward A. Brennan, chairman of DePaul’s Board of Trustees.

Strobel earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and a law degree from the University of Illinois, where she served on the Law Review. She began her career in 1977 as an associate in the law firm Isham, Lincoln & Beale. She became a law partner at Sidley & Austin, where she worked from 1988 to 1993 before joining ComEd.

Also joining the board are: Eugene Delaney, corporate vice president and general manager of Motorola’s Cellular Infrastructure Group, the Hon. Anne Marie Burke, Illinois Appellate Court Justice, and Ernesto Nieto, founder and director of the National Hispanic Institute.
