Six Other Appointments Also Announced

DePaul University has appointed Kay Morin Cochrane, 49, of South Bend, Ind., as associate vice president for alumni relations. Cochrane will oversee programs that serve DePaul University's 80,000 alumni. She comes to DePaul from the Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, where she served as executive director of alumni programs.

"Kay brings a unique blend of experience with business and alumni institutions that are similar to DePaul's," said James K. Looney, DePaul's vice president for advancement. "Coupled with her maturity and judgment, we feel she will lead our alumni efforts forward effectively and aggressively."

Cochrane said her goal is to establish an alumni program that fosters unique partnerships with and among DePaul alumni and the university. "Such partnerships will allow us to better serve the needs of our alumni while establishing opportunity for alumni interaction with faculty, staff and students."

Cochrane has an extensive background in institutional advancement programs in both public and private higher education.

At the Kelley School of Business, she managed alumni programs for 67,000 undergraduate MBA and doctoral candidates, including annual conferences, reunions, alumni club development and special events. Prior to joining the business school, Cochrane was assistant vice chancellor for alumni affairs and current giving for Indiana University South Bend, where she oversaw the annual fund giving solicitation activities and gift processing.

Cochrane served as vice president of membership and marketing for the Chamber of Commerce of St. Joseph County in South Bend from 1987 to 1990, where she developed and administered revenue-generating programs for the not-for-profit community agency, emphasizing volunteer and telemarketing campaigns and other direct sales activities.

From 1981-87, Cochrane was associate director of alumnae relations at St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Ind. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from St. Mary's in 1970.
