DePaul University's Finance Department, the Chicago Board of Trade and TIAA-CREF will sponsor a Spring Research Seminar on derivative securities and risk management on May 11 and 12 in Room 8005 of DePaul Center, 1 E. Jackson Blvd.

The invitation-only seminar will bring together approximately 100 academics in finance with portfolio managers and other finance professionals. Research will be presented and discussed from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on May 11 and from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on May 12.

Yuri Balasanov, senior financial engineer, NationsBank, will discuss "Value at Risk" during a 12:30 p.m. May 11 luncheon for seminar participants at the Metropolitan Club, 233 S. Wacker Dr., Suite 9110.
