Chicago Symphony Orchestra Flautist Donald Peck Will Perform At DePaul University's Concert Hall July 21

Donald Peck, principal flute for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and a member of DePaul University’s School of Music faculty, will perform a free public concert at 8 p.m. July 21 at the DePaul Concert Hall, 800 W. Belden Ave. Performing with Peck will be pianist Melody Lord, also a DePaul music faculty member, and percussionist James Ross, a fellow CSO member.

The program includes: "Sonata in F Major, Op. 1, No. 11," by Handel; "Improvisations" by Caplet; "Sonate in A Major" by Gaubert; "Air for Flute, Piano & Percussion" by Wilder; "Introduction and Rondo for Flute & Percussion" by Stein; "Sonatina" by Rieti; and "Barcarola E Scherzo" by Casella.

The public flute recital is being held in conjunction with Peck’s annual weeklong flute master class, which attracts talented college and young professional flute players from around the world.
